Priya Chaudhary | Co-Founder
Priya has a Master’s degree in Microbiology, M. Phil and PhD in Biotechnology from University of Pune, India. She received fellowships to conduct postdoctoral research in New York and Oregon. Recently, she completed a course in Pharmacogenomics from Stanford University. She has a middle schooler who keeps her busy and has volunteered regularly at the local elementary and middle schools for the past 7 years. Priya has mentored and taught many students over the past decade. She wants to strive hard to make students achieve their dreams. She believes that every person can sprout and blossom as long as one receives the correct direction and guidance.
Richa Jain | Co-Founder
Richa firmly believes that there is a true genius inside each child and it takes continuous effort and mentoring to unlock the unlimited potential of a child. Richa has been working with Middle and Elementary students, to not only teach them Math concepts but also to develop a passion for it. She was the co-coach for the 2013 Oregon Battle of Books State Champion team. She has a Master’s degree in Geo-Physics from Indian Institute of Technology, PhD in Environment Science and Post-Baccalaureate Certification in Geographical Information Science from Portland State University. She has worked on many disaster sites in both India and U.S. to understand the cause and analyze the impact. Her research papers have been published in International Journals.
Romita Biswas | Co-Founder
Romita is an experienced professional with 20 years of extensive teaching, undergraduate academic advising, research and industry experience at the University of Maryland, Marist College (NY), in the telecom consulting industry (NJ), and the power industry in Oregon (PacifiCorp). Romita has volunteered in elementary and middle schools in various capacities for 7 years including Junior Achievement, and enjoys working with children of all ages. Romita has a PhD in Economics from University of Maryland, College Park, and genuinely wants to make a qualitative contribution in educating children.
Shubhra Sinha Varma | Co-Founder
A passionate and experienced teacher, Shubhra has taught English, Math and Science in middle school grades in India. Highly involved in the community, she has organized numerous child literacy camps and is an active volunteer in local elementary and middle schools (Summa program). Shubhra was the co-coach for the 2013 National History Bowl champion team and Science Bowl facilitator for the regional runner up team from Stoller middle school. Additionally, she is accomplished in Kathak – a classical Indian dance form and has choreographed many dance performances at Portland’s various community events involving children from age 4 to adults. Shubhra holds a Masters in Computer Science from Portland State University and is a licensed Tax Adviser.
